What does a cricket tournament need to be successful? Famous players are certainly the most important factor, but it’s not the only one. Having some star commentators and experts in a competition is also a must for making it thrive. Without them, a tournament may sound dull and boring.
That’s what ILT20 bosses have done before the start of its first season. After signing several superstar cricketers for the league, they have roped in some of the greatest voices in the cricket world. Let’s discover all the commentators and experts who will be a part of the UAE T20 league.
The List of All the Commentators and Experts Confirmed for the UAE T20 League
Ian Bishop, Simon Doull, and David Lloyd were commentating during the most iconic moments in the recent cricketing events. The great news is that all three of them will be a part of the commentary panel in the ILT20 league. Also, some all-time legendary cricketers in the form of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, David Gower, Mohammad Azharuddin, Harbhajan Singh, and Niall O’Brien will also be there with their magical voices and expert analysis.
Also, the most famous subcontinent experts and commentators are included in the commentary panel. Those guys are Nikhil Chopra, Vivek Razdan, WV Raman, Russel Arnold, Rohan Gavaskar, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Saba Karim, S Sriram, and Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan. Adding to it, the famous sports broadcaster Natalie Germanos and former Indian skipper Anjum Chopra will be the two female commentators.
So, there’s no shortage of either expertise or experience when it comes to the ILT20 league’s commentary panel. The same is the case with the presenters, as all of them are well-known individuals in the cricket circuit. Sameena Anwar, Sanjana Ganesan, Laura McGoldrick, Alex Jordan, Sastika Rajendran, and Sagarika Chhetri will fulfill these duties. The commentary and analysis will be available in three languages; English, Tamil, and Hindi.
How They Reacted After Becoming A Part of the Competition?
The former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop expressed his excitement as:
“I am really excited to be commentating at the first season of the DP World ILT20. Some of the most prominent T20 stars will be showing their talent across the three iconic UAE venues and I cannot wait to describe the action. The UAE has already hosted some of the biggest cricket tournaments and the country will be treated with another fantastic competition which will be their very own.”
Like Bishop, Wasim Akram was also thrilled to become a part of this new league. He said:
“A new T20 league always creates excitement and I am eagerly looking forward to being a part of it. We will have the best seat in the house as commentators and calling the game with some of the legends of the game who are also my friends will be super fun.”
Harbhajan Singh is looking forward to helping cricket grow in the United Arab Emirates. Here’s how he reflected:
