Watching Indian cricketers play in any league is a rare sight, isn’t it? But, the trend is changing now as a few former Indian players are getting into the overseas leagues. After Robin Uthappa, Yusuf Pathan has also been roped in for the competition. Both the former Indian batters will play for the same franchise (Dubai Capitals) in the first edition of the UAE T20 league.

Pathan’s Career In Numbers
The middle-order batsman has played 57 ODIs and 22 T20 Internationals for India’s national side. He walked out to bat 59 times in International cricket and accumulated 1046 runs, with the help of three half-centuries.
His IPL career has brought him 3204 runs in 154 innings. Along with 13 fifties, he also has an IPL hundred against his name. Pathan scored runs at a strike rate of 146.58 in T20Is and 142.97 in the IPL. Also, his average of 29.13 in the Indian Premier League is particularly impressive, considering his role. All these stats suggest that he could be a great asset to the Dubai Capitals team.
His Recent Involvement In T20 Competitions
Yusuf Pathan announced his retirement from International and Indian cricket in February 2021. Post his retirement, he has been quite keen to play in different league competitions. The 40-year-old recently participated in the Legends League Cricket and Road Safety World Series.
He was the 2nd-highest run-getter in the 2022 season of the Legends League Cricket. Pathan played 7 matches in the competition, scoring 184 runs at an average of 30.66. His highest score in the league was 48 runs. Now, the ILT20 league will add to his experience of playing overseas leagues.
