The International League T20 started on the 13th of January as  Dubai Capitals and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders locked horns in the league openers. Let’s see how players’ performances have impacted their SportiScore price.

 

Match 1: Dubai Capitals vs Abu Dhabi Knight Riders

 

Dubai Capitals 187 for 6 (Powell 48 (↑46%), Uthappa 43(↑14%)) beat Abu Dhabi Knight Riders 114 for 9 (Stirling 54 (↑51%), Mujeeb 2-16 (↑23%)) by 73 runs.

Dubai Capitals batted first in the opening encounter of the first-ever DP World ILT20 league competition. Robin Uthappa (↑14%) was solid up front and 33-ball 43 laid a strong platform for his side. When he departed at the end of the 12th over, the score was 84 for 3 in 12 overs. Now, the Capitals needed to accelerate and Rovman Powell (↑46%) took the responsibility.

Powell played a destructive knock of 48(29) to make things tough for the Knight Riders. At the back end of the innings, Isuru Udana (11 off 3) and Ravi Bopara (12 off 4) took the Capitals to 187 in the 20 overs.

In pursuit of a hefty chase, Abu Dhabi lost Colin Ingram in the first over. Paul Stirling (↑51%) was fighting at the other end but there was no support for him. The Irish man finished with 54 off 38 deliveries. Andre Russell (↓25%) scored 12 and apart from these two, none of the ADKR’s batters could enter the double figures. Consequently, they slipped to 114 for 9 at the end of their innings and lost the game by 73 runs.

The next on the list is Paul Stirling (↑51%) whose resilient knock of 54 off 38 gave him 34.5 SportiScore points. His innings included 5 boundaries and a couple of maximums. Rovman Powell’s (↑46%) impactful batting performance of 48(29) along with 3 fours and as many sixes earned 26 points as his batting score. His 2 wickets gave him 6.75 points to take the total to 32.75 SportiScore points.

Ireland’s Paul Stirling and West Indies’ Rovman Powell got the highest increase in their price on day 1. Stirling’s & Powell’s price raised by 49.5 & 45.7 SPQs respectively. Whereas Russell’s price went down by 23.9 SPQs and Yusuf Pathan’s value decreased by 24.4 points.
